Sonja Jareteg is one of the amazing women at Autocirc. With a background at Volvo, she joined us in December as Group Accounting Manager. Right now, she's working hard to put together the team that will create even better structure and precision in our financial work. And dreaming of spring so she can take her Harley out for a spin. If you're an accountant and interested in working with us at Autocirc towards a circular transition in the automotive industry, read our interview with Sonja carefully. Tell us about yourself and your role at Autocirc.
- I've always been interested in numbers and I like order and clarity - that's what we economists do. For me, it's important that the reporting is correct and that things land right. I also enjoy meeting people and have had the privilege of working with many different personalities, with different cultural and national backgrounds. I come from a position at Volvo where I worked for 20 years on group accounting issues, developing information models and implementing systems. This experience will be very useful in my work as Group Accounting Manager here at Autocirc. My responsibility is to support the group's 56 legal entities in their monthly reporting and at the same time ensure that we meet the reporting requirements to our owners. So you could say that I am the hub in the middle.
Why did you become interested in working for Autocirc?
- I thought it seemed like a very exciting business that was developing so quickly. Autocirc is a relatively young company, compared to Volvo, which is a hundred years old. It feels very inspiring to be part of this growth journey and to contribute to developing and implementing the processes that will be needed in the future.
What is a typical day like for you?
- It varies a lot, but the job always means you have to be flexible. What I think I'm going to do when I arrive in the morning, I may not be able to focus on. But one thing I always make sure to do is to check my emails so that I can help if something is urgent. I never want to be a bottleneck for our companies.
What are you most looking forward to in 2023?
- Our acquisitions and finding routines and processes for how we welcome them into the company in the best possible way. I'm also looking forward to creating the organization for group accounting, where we are looking for two economists to join our team. We will develop common procedures and models as well as a handbook for our accounting. This is something that is in demand and will help many people in their daily work.
What do you do when you are not working?
- I try to spend a lot of time with my husband, our children and grandchildren. I also love to travel, which I've had the privilege of doing both professionally and personally. I enjoy activities - everything from downhill skiing to hiking or taking my Harley Davidson Sportser for a spin. I used to ride behind my husband for a long time, but ten years ago I felt that now I wanted to drive myself. I had never even ridden a moped before, so it was a big but fun step.
