ESG & Quality review 2025 - Hanna Wadsten
ESG & Quality review 2025 - Hanna Wadsten

Autocirc’s sustainability work took important steps forward in 2025. For the first time, the Group established a shared understanding of its full GHG footprint across Scope 1, 2 and 3 - creating a stronger foundation for future emission reductions and more structured sustainability governance.
In this interview, Hanna Wadsten, ESG & Quality Manager, shares how Autocirc is moving from measurement to action, how increasing customer and regulatory expectations are shaping the industry, and why governance and employee engagement are becoming increasingly important in the transition towards a more circular automotive industry.
How would you describe Autocirc’s 2025 from your perspective as ESG & Quality Manager?
The most significant development in 2025 is that, for the first time, we calculated our full GHG footprint - Scope 1, 2 and 3 - at Group level. This has given us a shared, fact-based understanding of where we stand.
A large part of our sustainability work has focused on understanding our current position: how our emissions profile looks and where we have the greatest potential to reduce it. This provides an important foundation for taking the next step and working more systematically with emission reductions.
By strengthening the Governance dimension, we also bring clearer overall responsibility and stronger anchoring across the organisation, while meeting the increased focus on governance matters from our business partners.
Another important priority has been to better understand the climate impact of our business. Being able to quantify the savings our customers achieve by choosing reused parts is an ongoing and strategically important area of work.

"In 2025, we established a Group-wide understanding of our full GHG footprint for the first time."
How has Autocirc strengthened its ability to measure, manage and follow up on sustainability performance during the year?
For the second consecutive year, we have used an external platform to collect and calculate our GHG data for Scope 1, 2 and 3. This has provided a clearer structure and more reliable calculations across the Group.
Through the platform, we can now track developments over time, analyse emission-intensive categories and compare performance between companies. This helps us identify improvement areas and learn from one another. It also enables us to respond more quickly and systematically to questions from customers and partners.
Our methodology has continued to evolve during the year. As we work more actively with the data, we become more precise in identifying what is material and how we calculate our emissions. All reporters across the Group have been trained in how to carry out the reporting and why it matters, creating a shared understanding of the bigger picture.
At the same time, we see growing interest from partners, particularly regarding governance and traceability. The questions are becoming more detailed, which both raises expectations and confirms that our priorities are well aligned.
What expectations do you see today from customers, partners and regulators, and how is Autocirc responding to them?
Major EU regulations affect both us and our customers. Some requirements apply directly to our operations, while others affect us indirectly through our role in our customers’ value chains. Expectations are communicated earlier, and requirements are gradually becoming more stringent.
This includes governance-related matters such as our Code of Conduct and how customer requirements are integrated into our own governing documents. We also see increased focus on chemical legislation and the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), where we need to be prepared for upcoming reporting obligations.
Larger stakeholders are providing clearer signals about what will be expected in the coming years – not least regarding concrete emission reduction measures. This reinforces our focus on staying ahead and having a clear plan in place.
The ability to demonstrate both our current position and progress over time is becoming increasingly important. By building a solid data foundation and a shared structure across the Group, we strengthen our ability to meet expectations and remain a long-term partner in the value chain.

"By building a solid data foundation, we strengthen our ability to meet future expectations."
What were the key people-related highlights during 2025?
Through the Group HR function, we conducted our first Group-wide employee survey. It provided a clearer picture of how we are doing, how we experience our work and where we can improve. For us, it is important not only to collect feedback, but to work actively with the results and follow up over time.
We have also placed increased focus on health and safety by strengthening our reporting and follow-up processes, with the aim of improving safety and sharing knowledge across the Group.
An important message throughout the year has been that every employee’s contribution matters – everyone contributes to Autocirc. There is a clear willingness within the organisation to develop and to understand why this work is important.
What will be most important for Autocirc’s sustainability work in 2026?
In 2026, the focus shifts from insight to execution. With a solid understanding of our GHG footprint, we are now ready to set our first formally adopted emission targets.
The priority is to implement concrete measures, track their impact and continue preparing for upcoming legislation, including in the area of human rights. At the same time, we will further strengthen our ability to demonstrate the CO₂ savings our customers achieve by choosing reused parts.
The work to understand our GHG footprint has been a shared effort across the Group and has created a strong foundation for what comes next. I would like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who contributed to this work, and to all employees who participated in our first employee survey during the year. I look forward to building on this foundation and continuing to strengthen our role in the sustainable transition of our industry.
