Today, Autocirc is launching its group-wide EV360™ platform, introducing a standardized process for the safe and quality-assured dismantling, testing, and sale of original, reusable EV parts and batteries. The launch comes at a significant moment, as Europe’s EV fleet grows rapidly, along with the need to dismantle damaged and end-of-life vehicles for the reuse of original spare parts.
With EV360™, Autocirc introduces the industry’s first standardized and scalable platform for the safe and efficient dismantling of damaged and end-of-life EVs, including the reuse of original spare parts. Recovered high-voltage batteries (so-called ’second-life batteries’) can be repurposed not only for secondary use in energy storage systems but also safely reused directly as high-quality replacement batteries in other cars. This helps extend the lifespan of electric vehicles while keeping repair and replacement costs affordable for insurers, workshops and car owners.
“Autocirc’s EV360™ is a true game-changer for the automotive industry – from insurers and vehicle OEMs to workshops and second-life battery providers,” says Hugues Delval, CEO of Autocirc Group. “Europe’s transition to electric mobility requires EV battery reuse to be safe, cost-effective, and efficient across the entire value chain. Our new EV360™ circular model meets this challenge, enabling the scalable, systematic handling of electric vehicles while creating new opportunities for our customers.”
According to Autocirc’s own analysis, Europe’s current EV fleet contains approximately 300 GWh of end-of-life battery capacity– five times the total capacity of all grid-scale energy storage systems installed in 2024. This highlights the enormous potential for circularity in the European EV sector and the need for safe and efficient handling of original EV parts, particularly high-voltage batteries. Autocirc’s EV360™ addresses this demand with tried-and-tested methods for handling, grading, and traceability, meeting both regulatory requirements and customer expectations.
Tomas Haglund-Flemström, Head of Ecosystem and Raw Material Recycling at Autocirc, adds: “With EV360™, Autocirc becomes the first in Europe to offer a scalable process for extending the lifespan of original EV parts and batteries. We believe we can offer the largest and most reliable supply of tested, graded, and quality-assured second-life EV batteries. As the shift to electric mobility accelerates across Europe, we aim to make true circular economy a reality – EV360™ is the key to achieving this.”
EV360™ is developed based on Autocirc’s long-standing expertise in the mature Norwegian EV market, where the Group is an industry leader in the dismantling and recycling of electric vehicles, including the sale of original, reusable EV components and batteries.
At the core of EV360™ lies Autocirc’s EV360 Protocol™ – a detailed process framework for handling electric vehicles and batteries. It is currently undergoing third-party validation. By following the procedures outlined in the EV360™ Protocol, EVs can be handled in the safest way possible, supported by repeatable processes and full traceability.
