This is not Bruno Fernandez. But remember his name, we'll come back to him. In the picture you see Hanna Wadsten, our ESG & Quality Manager. She has a master's degree in climate strategy from Lund University and a background as a consultant in environment and sustainability. She joined Autocirc in 2021, which doesn't sound like a very long time ago, but the fact is that Hanna has been part of almost our entire growth journey.
Tell us about your role at Autocirc.
- My role consists of two parts. On the one hand, it is the sustainability work at group level. On the other hand, it is to be a support for our companies in environmental and quality issues. If we start with the group work, it means ensuring that we live up to the requirements placed on us, for example in sustainability reporting. The EU taxonomy is an important tool in our work, helping us to identify which activities are environmentally sustainable and meet EU requirements. There are also additional frameworks that govern what sustainability reporting should look like at EU level, linked to the Paris Agreement, among others. For our companies, it's about supporting and helping them with everything related to environmental issues, regulatory matters, ISO and industry standards, and management systems.
Why were you interested in working for Autocirc?
- Sustainability is at the heart of Autocirc's business. We work with the highest steps in the waste hierarchy: reduce and reuse. Being part of that work and contributing was very attractive to me. At the same time, it is super exciting to be part of this growth journey, together with this team. To be active in the strategic work, the operational work and then see the results.
What does a typical day look like for you?
- It's very different. One day I can be out at one of our companies and support them in a start-up meeting for a certification, the next day it can be to participate in a sustainability forum. Often you have a plan and think you're going to get something done, but the day ends in something completely different because things are happening all the time.
What are you most looking forward to this year?
- Working with all new colleagues! Both in Borås but also in the organization as a whole. We have gained so much incredibly fine expertise that will help us move forward together. It will also be exciting with the new markets we are now entering. I also look forward to realizing all the data we have for a clear strategy for sustainability work. In what areas can we make the biggest difference?
What do you do when you're not working?
- I have been renovating a lot for a while, but we are done with that now. I really enjoy being out in nature. I almost grew up in the forest with an orienteering dad and little brother. Last year I was an official at the World Championships! Sailing is a new interest that was sparked last season. We'll do it again this summer. And soon we will get a little puppy to the family that will require a lot of time and love. A brown labrador with the working name Bruno Fernandez. We'll see if we stick with it.
